PRAYER POINTS

Direct your Prayer – In Psalm 5:3, David tells the Lord, “in the morning I will direct my prayer to you.” The word direct means to lay out or plan. Here, David is saying that he laid out his desires, dreams, and wishes before the Lord when he prayed. He did this because he wanted God’s blessings, but most of all, he wanted God’s will. Sometimes we think God’s will is second best, but in reality it is the very best (See Romans 12:1). Don’t be afraid to share your dreams and desires with God; ask Him what He thinks about them! You may be surprised that God has more for you than you could ever dream. Always remember that the Lord is good, and in His presence you will always find great joy!

Reflection – It is very important to your spiritual journey that you learn to reflect and examine where you are and where you are going. In 2 Corinthians 13:5 you are told to examine yourself. To examine oneself simply means to approve of something. In this season, Pastor Kent has reminded you that you are the CEO’S of your own life. You and I have been given the privilege and responsibility of making choices for our own lives! So reflecting or meditating on all of God’s grace and mercy helps you make the right decisions. The Bible says, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Waiting and reflecting on the Lord is a good way to walk in victory and power. We have the choice to make this a good year. Put your trust in Jesus, and see what happens!

The Power of Praise – Psalm 22:3 teaches that God dwells in the praise of Israel, His people. This literally means that God is enthroned in your praise. Fear can give the enemy a place to attack you, but praise gives God a place to work in your life. Paul and Silas were imprisoned and bound until they began to sing, praise and pray to the Lord, and God sent an earthquake in the middle of their praise that set everyone free. Praise does not work by how you feel; praise works because of Who God is and what He can do! I refuse to worry, complain, doubt, and be discouraged when I know my answer is only a praise away! You should, too.
